Liverpool rule out Luis Suarez exit talk

19 November 2012 - 07:48

Liverpool's chairman Tom Werner has ruled out any suggestion of star striker Luis Suarez quitting the club. The Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent days.

  • £47m star to undergo Chelsea medical on Friday
  • Chelsea make first move to sign French centre-back
  • When asked about a potential move for Suarez, the Liverpool chairman seemed puzzled.

    “Absolutely not,” said Werner.

“He’s a beautiful player to watch and, as a Liverpool fan, I hope I’m watching him for many years to come. We made a long-term contract with him in the summer and we are going to see a lot of his play at Liverpool.”

Suarez has had a wonderful season so far this year at Anfield, and is reportedly keen to stay put at the club.
