Frank Lampard gives up on Chelsea deal

07 January 2013 - 08:19

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has all but given up hope of signing a fresh deal at Stamford Bridge, after club executives told the midfielder that he would be surplus to requirements at the end of the season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • A number of high profile clubs have expressed an interest in the England international, with Lazio believed to be in pole position to secure his signature. Queens Park Rangers have also shown some interest.

However, Lampard is keen to stay in the Premier League and would prefer to stay in London. The 34-year-old has been in excellent form this year, but it has been not enough to secure a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
