Sunderland have made an offer to New York Red Bulls' midfielder Tim Cahill for a two month loan move to the Stadium of Light. Cahill moved to the MLS from Everton last summer.
Cahill enjoyed many a successful year in the Premier League and has hinted last week that he would be happy to make a surprise return to England in the January transfer window.<br />
The MLS is currently off season now, and several American stars have been linked with moves to England. One of those is the Aussie international, and a two month loan deal has been suggested.<br />
Over the past few years, a number of successful loan spells have seen former greats return to the Premiership; inclusive of Arsenal striker Thierry Henry and Everton signing Landon Donovan on loan twice.
