Tottenham must make massive offer for Damiao

Tottenham must make massive offer for Damiao

10 January 2013 - 05:34

Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao - a long time target for Tottenham Hotspur - may not end up in the Premier League after all, after Internacional's club president Giovanni Luigi insisted that a big offer would need to be made for him to even consider a transfer for his star player.

 • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
 • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
 • Damiao has been linked with a move to Tottenham for over two years, and Spurs' manager Andre Villas-Boas is also a huge fan of the talented frontman. However, at this time there appears to be a massive difference between what Spurs are willing to pay and the fee that Internacional are demanding.
"There have been some offers from Premier League clubs, but we have not yet decided what will happen with Damiao," said Luigi. "It will be very difficult for something to happen in January unless we have a spectacular offer.
"We have read about the interest from Tottenham, but Inter Milan? Someone told me about it, but there were no direct contacts and we have never received a direct offer."
