14 January 2013 - 05:36

Gunners midfielder Mikel Arteta will be missing from action for three weeks with a calf injury. The Spaniard was missing from action for the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • It is a massive blow for Arsenal and for Arteta, who have relied on the Spaniard's presence in the midfield for every minute of the Premier League season. At the weekend, the Gunners brought in Abou Diaby as a replacement for the former Everton man.

Arsene Wenger said: "He has a scan on Monday. He will be out for approximately three weeks. It is a calf strain."
