No offers for Chelsea outcast Malouda

17 January 2013 - 10:04

Chelsea forward Florent Malouda is free to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window. The Blues have told the Frenchman that he will be able to quit the club on a free transfer.

  • Last summer Chelsea had hoped to part ways with the player, who has just six months left on his existing deal. However, just two bids were made for Malouda and both were rejected. One stumbling block is the player's salary, and French side Monaco - despite a long term interest in the player - were unable to match his request.

This month Chelsea have told the player he can leave for free, as he has been training outside of the first team squad and plays with the under-21 side.

Fulham are amongst the clubs who are considering a short term deal.
