Fulham to sign Urby Emanuelson

30 January 2013 - 12:55

Fulham will tomorrow complete a move for Dutch full back Urby Emanuelson. The player will move to Craven Cottage on loan until the end of the season after his current club AC Milan agreed to release him.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Fulham boss Martin Jol is a big fan of his fellow countryman, and is eager to bring in a new defender before the transfer window closes. Jol spent time managing the defender at Ajax Amsterdam.

Emanuelson confirmed that a deal is on the cards. He told a reporter: "I will finish the season with a loan deal - I have worked very well with Jol at Ajax and am happy as he gives me the chance."

"Martin has a lot of confidence in me and that's what I need right now. At Milan I ended up on the bench from nowhere and I was really shocked with that."

"The previous two months were hard and at my age it is important to play week in, week out."
