West Brom forced into transfer market

31 January 2013 - 07:20

West Bromwich Albion have been forced into the transfer market after an injury to George Thorne. Manager Steve Clarke originally had no plan to bring in new faces.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • “George has hurt his knee – it doesn’t look good,” said Clarke. “The medical people and he’ll have scans will look at it.

“It was never in my plan to bring new faces in this window and we only have today to do it.

“We wanted to keep the squad we’ve got but we will have a meeting and decide what’s the best way forward as a result of George’s injury.

“As for Peter there have been no bids in for him. We expect him to be in for training today.
