Swansea searching for the 'new Michu'

21 May 2013 - 03:36

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup will begin his search to find the new Michu this summer, as he looks for a partner for the talented Spanish forward.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Michu has impressed in his first season in the Premier League, and Swansea are on the look out for another unknown forward.

"Can we get another Michu? I hope so but it's not easy. There are some out there but other clubs want them as well and we are not financially the most powerful of the 20 clubs in the Premier League. Goals are money and you have to pay," said Laudrup.

"You can't think you can find a top scorer for free. We almost did it last year but you don't win the lottery every time.

"We hope and we will work and I may get excited when we get the one we want - but I know it is one thing to do the research, to put the name on paper, to think you have a chance, but it is another to sign them."
