Tottenham have contacted Barcelona and hope to make a move for Spanish forward David Villa this summer. Spurs are eager to bring the Spanish international striker in to take over first team duties from Emmanuel Adebayor next year.

The arrival of Neymar at the Nou Camp has seen the Brazilian jump ahead of Villa in the pecking order, leaving the former Valencia man no option but to move elsewhere.<br />

Villa is eager to leave Spain and would prefer a move to England, and Tottenham are reportedly preparing a 12 million Euro offer for the 31-year-old.
