  • Sevilla were always fighting a losing battle to hold onto Ramos as his contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

Ramos has guided Sevilla to back to back UEFA Cup titles, had been looked as the number one target following Thursday’s sacking of Martin Jol.

According to Marca website, Ramos has been allowed to leave while the La Liga club are working out the compensation package.

Earlier on Friday, Sevilla had however stated that Ramos is still with them and is not lined up to take Spurs job but apparently an emergency meeting with club president Jose Maria Del Nido, has reportedly agreed to the parting of the ways.

Ramos is expected to be joined by Leeds assistant boss Gus Poyet at White Hart Lane, with the former Spurs midfielder having admitted he is open to the job.
