Aston Villa deny Tottenham bid for Benteke

Aston Villa have denied that Tottenham have made an approach for Christian Benteke. The Belgium international had been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, with Jermain Defoe heading the other way.

Benteke admitted a few weeks ago that he would be interested in a move away from the Villans should the opportunity arise.<br />

An Aston Villa source quipped:&nbsp;"There has been no bid from Tottenham. In fact we have not had an official offer from any of the many clubs mentioned in connection with Christian."
