Manchester United are interested in a move for the "new Makelele", Monaco midfielder Nampalys Mendy. The 20-year-old defensive midfielder could be sold for around 8 million Euros.
David Moyes has so far only brought in youngster Guilermo Varela this summer, but hopes to wrap up a deal for the 5 foot 6 midfielder.
In recent years Nampalys has forced his way into Monaco's first team setup, last year the youngster secured a regular first team place playing in 32 league games for the French side.
Monaco's owners are eager to bring in a new defensive midfielder this summer, thus paving the way for a move to England for Mendy.
