Wolfswinkel To Take Norwich City To "Next Level"

14 June 2013 - 18:33

Ricky van Wolfswinkel is all set to join the Canaries and he intends to propel Norwich City to the "next level" once the Premier League campaign kicks off. The Dutch striker joins the club only on July 1, after his return from duty with his international playing side, for a sum of 8.5million pounds.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Wolfswinkel plays for Sporting Lisbon and he netted 15 goals last season and 38 in his last 50 appearances for Sporting. Norwich, on the other hand struggled to score goals in the second half of the season, even though they pulled up the team performance against West Brom and Manchester City to stay clear of relegation and finished at the 11th position. Norwich could find the net only 41 times in 38 games last season, which clearly demands a tweak in the attacking strategies of the Canaries.

"There is already a great team there and I hope I can do that. I will love working with the team and the coach and I see a very good future for us all - for me and for Norwich" - Wolfswinkel

He also added to his statements that even though a few people consider his move from Sporting to Norwich City, a step back, he personally has an anti-opinion. He feels that with his caliber and firepower, he is the one who will best complement Chris Hughton's side to turn things in their favour.
