Former Brazil coach, Mano Menezes has been entrusted with the Brazilian Serie A club Flamengo. This would be Menezes first assignment after having been sacked last year in November in the hopes of building a team with new methods and new planning ahead of 2014 World Cup.
A club statement made his appointment public:<br /> "Flamengo can confirm the hiring of coach Mano Menzes",<br /> <br />"The board would like to put on record its appreciation of Rubro-Negro fans for supporting the club through the process"<br />
Menezes has expressed his pride in taking the baton for the club but judging by the current chaotic situations of the club, that has already hired 3 managers this year, it sure looks like a roller coaster ride ahead of Mano.<br />
"We must compete better against our opponents, and if we can improve our togetherness as a club, the Rubro-Negro will be much stronger" - Mano Menezes said to the club's official website.<br />
Flamengo is currently ranked at 14th place in Brasileiro.
