Schuster Named New Coach For Malaga

Malaga made an official announcement on Friday confirming the appointment of Bernd Schuster as the new Malaga coach. Schuster has been a former boss of the Real Madrid and has also managed Shakhtar Donetsk, Levante and Getafe.

  • Malaga divulged the details of the agreement that has been finalised for 5 years. They trust Schuster, with all his past experience, will help achieve the teams "long term goals". Schuster has immense experience of the La Liga, also cruising Real Madrid to 2008 league title.



    Schuster's appointment comes after Manuel Pellegrini leaves for Man City to be the new boss there. Malaga finished sixth in the league last season and also advanced to Champions League quarter finals just to get beaten by Borussia Dortmund.



    Malaga are also banned for the next season of Europa League after running afoul of UEFA's financial fair play regulations. Schuster will be accompanied by his coaching team that comprises of Fabio Celestini as assistant coach and Carlos Cascallana as the physical trainer.
