Hull boss Steve Bruce plans a bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent as he is willing to hijack Newcastle's bid for the England International.
There has been plenty of interest for Bent this summer and Hull are set to join the race to sign him according to sources in England. Hull are in real need of a proven goal scorer who could save them from relegation threat in the forthcoming season.
Steve Bruce has thought of Darren Bent as the perfect man to score the goals to keep the club in the Premier League.
Though Newcastle had been favourites to sign Darren Bent since the January transfer window, they have been reluctant to pay the £6 million asking price as they think the player have noe resale value.
Hull would be able to pay the transfer fee but maynot manger to pay all his wages. He currently earns £70,000 a week and would have to take pay cut to join the Npower Championship runners up.
The striker now looks set to leave Villa Park and Hull are moving into pole position to sign him..
