Wigan striker Arouna Kone is a surprise target for WBA. £6.5million will be enough for West Brom to sign Wigan striker Arouna Kone, as that is reportedly the fixed minimum fee release clause in the striker's contract. Kone was in inspired form for the Latics last year but was unable to save them from relegation.
West Brom have been linked with several strikers, including forward Ola Toivonen. In other developments at the Baggies, Romelu Lukaku will not be returning to the club and Peter Odemwingie's future remains in some doubt.
West Brom's manager Steve Clarke has decided to bring in at least one new striker this summer as he looks to rebuild for the new season ahead.
