Arsenal target Sebastien Corchia set to join Lyon

Sochaux right back Sebastien Corchia is closing in on a switchto Olympique Lyon having snubbed interest from the Gunners.

  • Chelsea eyeing part-exchange deal to sign Osimhen
  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Arsenal were reportedly interested in bringing the 22-year-old as a possible long term replacement for Bacary Sagna, who was rumored to be heading out of the club upon failure to sign a contract extension, but as the dark clouds  paved way over Sagna’s future at the Emirates the interest in bringing in Corchia has cooled off.

The Gunners were ready to fight with Lyon for the Frenchman's signature but at present, Corchia looks set to move to Lyon despite Wenger being keen on his move to the Emirates.

Corchia's representative Francois Gilles said: "Sebastien has chosen. Lyon is the future, this is what he wants (and) is what he has planned. I can at least confirm that today."

Wenger was looking for a long term solution at the right back position but seeing as Sagna’s experience is invaluable to the club and with Carl Jenkinson coming up the ranks, the right back position look safe for years to come.

Wenger has been on the hunt for players this summer, and it will be enthralling to see what happens in the days to come....
