Premier League Clubs Target Jefferson Montero

Premier League Clubs Target Jefferson Montero

24 June 2013 - 18:08

Ecuador international, Jefferson Montero, would be hoping to seal a move to England this summer transfer season in the Premier League, following the great deal of attention he has been drawing from a host of Premier League clubs.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Montero, who joined Morelia from Villarreal last year, after some impressive displays on the pitch, almost joined Wigan in January this year but the deal couldn’t be finalized.

But recent reports suggest growing interest of clubs in the Morelia wide-man. It is understood that he was on the radar of many English clubs’ scouting networks, who monitored his performance in Ecuador’s World Cup qualifying draw with Argentina earlier this month.

The prominent clubs that are keen on the 23-year-old are Swansea, West Brom, West Ham and Hull City. These clubs are ready to meet his buy-out clause of 3.5million pounds.

Dan Chapman said, "Jefferson is ready to move to England,"

"We can confirm a number of clubs are showing an interest, which is not surprising after his performance against Argentina last week."
