Henrikh Mkhitaryan calms Liverpool move talk

25 June 2013 - 00:51

Armenian international Mkhitaryan, who has been persistently linked with a move to Liverpool, has told reporters that there is little truth in the reports of an imminent move to the Premier League.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The highly rated attacking midfielder was in inspired form last year in Ukrainian's top division, as he not only won the country's golden boot but also impressed in Europe's showpiece tournament, the Champions League.

Luis Suarez has been linked with an Anfield exit several times this summer, with Real Madrid seemingly favourites to sign the Uruguayan. Mkhitaryan has been suggested as a possible replacement should he leave, whilst the Reds have already signed Iago Aspas.

"I am happy to see that people show keen interest in my career but I would like to ask all not only to refrain from making comments but also to prevent the spread of unverified and false information," said the Armenian.

"I am not meddling with these affairs. If have a contract with a club, I just fulfil it."
