Simon Mignolet completes Liverpool move

26 June 2013 - 01:16

Simon Mignolet has finally completed his long awaited move from Sunderland to Liverpool. The Belgium international goalkeeper, 25, has become the Reds' third signing of the summer after Kolo Toure and Iago Aspas.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Since arriving at Sunderland, Mignolet has worked hard to become the number 1 goalkeeper. Paolo Di Canio came in towards the end of last season and told the shot stopper that he would not stand in his way should another team choose to make a bid for him.

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers said: "I am delighted that we have been able to sign one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League.

"Simon will join a club that will give him an opportunity to demonstrate and improve his huge talent."
