Tottenham step up David Villa interest

27 June 2013 - 05:05

Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Barcelona's striker David Villa. The forward has reportedly told his agent that he wants to leave the Nou Camp in search of regular first team football.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Spurs are unhappy with the current forwards they have at the club, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor unimpressing manager Andre Villas-Boas last year whilst Jermain Defoe has been continuously linked with a move away from White Hart Lane.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham technical director Franco Baldini will hold talks with Barcelona regarding a move for the player.

Baldini moved to Tottenham last week and is in charge of all incoming transfers at Spurs.
