Bayern Munich Target Micah Richards

Bayern Munich Target Micah Richards

27 June 2013 - 19:06

Manchester City defender Micah Richards, has been targeted by the Champion League winners Bayern Munich. It has been reported by the Daily Star that the German champions are willing to spend £14m for Richards, who has two years left on is present contract.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • It has been suggested that the 25-year old is hugely admired by former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. Richards has been troubled by injuries lately and has struggled to secure a spot in the first-team.

He has had to compete with Pablo Zabeleta and Maicon for his place at right-back, and could make only seven starts for the Blues.

Daily Star report suggests that the £14m bid in place for Richards might be enough to tempt Manchester City to allow Richards leave the club. Richards has also drawn interest from Inter Milan but it seems unlikely that he chooses Milan over the Champion League winners.

A source was quoted saying, “Micah wants to know where he stands with his new manager and will then look at his options.

“Bayern have made some enquiries and if a club of that stature wants to sign you, then you have to give it serious thought.”
