According to the Italian media, Chelsea have made an opening offer for Daniele De Rossi after Roma confirmed of his name up for sale on the transfer market.<br /><br />

Calciomercato suggest today that Chelsea's new manager Jose Mourinho is regenerating his interest in the Italy midfielder, having already failed to sign him twice at Inter and Real Madrid.<br /><br />De Rossi at the moment looks most likely than ever to leave the Stadio Olimpico after a well below-par Serie A  campaign in which his association with the fans as well as the club hit a new low.<br /><br />At the start of the week, Roma President James Pallotta confirmed “everybody is on the market,” including their ‘future captain.’<br /><br />However reports claim the West London club have initially offered around £8.5m which is well below the value to tempt the Giallorossi into a sale.<br /><br />De Rossi also has interest elsewhere from Manchester City and Manchester United.
