 With the return of the 'Special One' Jose Mourinho to Chelsea,the West London are looking to bring in another old link who graduated from the Academy. Serbian international Nemanja Matic has been impressive with his performances at Benfica have deep interest from Chelsea who are looking to fight out Real Madrid who will not make it easy for the Blues in their pursuit for the promising midfielder and are likely to compete with them for the capture of the player's signature.
AS Monaco were interested in the player but were put off by the Release clause the Premeira Liga runners-up Benfica set at £42 million.That valuation looked too steep even for them.
The Los Blancos have emerged as the primary threat for Blues in their effort to sign the 24-year-old Serbian. Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported that Jose Mourinho wishes to fasten up the deal to counter Madrid’s £25 million bid. Nemanja Matic, with his stamina, strength and aggression, is the ideal guy to have at the centre of a busy midfield.
Chelsea would need to match the player's release clause or atleast near that evaluation to have a chance to get the player's signature.
