James Perch signs for Wigan Athletic

The new Latics manager Owen Coyle has made his fourth signing at Wigan after confirming the capture of James Perch's signature from Newcastle for an undisclosed fee.

The Magpies versatile star Perch, 27, who can play as a full-back as well as in midfield, has passed his medical at the DW Stadium and signed a four-year-deal with the Championship side.<br /><br />Perch said: "It feels great to be here with a new challenge ahead of me. I'm very excited at getting that started.<br /><br />"The prospect of helping to get the team promoted was really appealing and I can't wait to meet the rest of the boys and get started.<br /><br/>"I think Wigan Athletic are a great club and after speaking with the manager, his ambition and determination to take the club back to the Premier League, where it belongs is something I wanted to be a part of."<br /><br />
