Tottenham Bid For Roberto Soldado

Tottenham Bid For Roberto Soldado

03 July 2013 - 15:36

Tottenham have targeted Valencia striker Roberto Soldado. The London club have reportedly made an attempt to bring the player to the Premier League by placing a €20 million bid for him.

  • Dutch star has travelled to London for Chelsea medical
  • Chelsea to focus on signing Dutch attacker after Hato

  • Soldado is one of the two strikers the Spurs have been targeting fiercely this summer, Barcelona’s David Villa being the other, who the club values at €12 million. Leandro Damio from Internacional is also believed to be on Tottenham’s shopping list.

The Daily Star reports that the White Hart Lane has been monitoring the progress of Valencia captain for long now and they are prepared to pay €20 million for the Spanish international. The report further suggests that the ambitious bid made by Tottenham was rejected by president Amadeo Salvao, as he believes that their star striker is worth much more than what the club is willing to pay.

Valencia is reportedly unhappy about the offers being made for Soldado and they straight away dismiss the fact that he is even up for sale. Salvao insists that the 28-year-old is an integral player for the club and he has no intentions of selling him until a club meets his buy-out clause of €30 million.

Another report suggests that Valencia are in talks with the agents of Chelsea midfielder, Oriol Romeu, who is seemingly not a part of new Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho’s plans this season.
