  • The Spaniard, who spent the last season in Bundesliga is set to serve the Spanish giants Real Madrid now. Madrid activated a clause that allowed them to buy back the player from Leverkusen, within his contract period of 3 years.

Carvajal thanked the club president and fans for having brought him back to Spain.

"Thank you to the president, the fans and the club"

"I fought for a dream that today becomes reality.

"Today I'm the happiest person in the world. I will give my all for this club."

Madrid president Florentino Perez also welcomed the youngster to Bernabeu :

"Today, many 'Madridistas' are happy for you - you have returned home. Dani, welcome to Real Madrid”

"You know the demands of this club. Now your opportunity has come, and I know you'll make the most of it. You, Dani, know the values of this club to perfection."

The right-back left los Bloncos last summer but Real inserted a buy-back clause in the contract signed, that allowed them to buy back the promising defender last month. He made 32 appearances for Leverkusen last year, scoring one goal.

Real Madrid have offered him a contract that binds him to the club until 2019.
