06 July 2013 - 05:58

There had been some talk that Jozy Altidore's move from AZ Alkmaar to Sunderland had fallen through but in a last minute twist it appears that the Black Cats have matched the reported 6.5 million Euro asking price for the striker.

 • Altidore, who spent one year on loan with Hull City in the Premier League back in 2010, will fly in to Sunderland this weekend to discuss personal terms with Paolo Di Canio and club representatives.
The American international striker will have a medical on Monday and will be unveiled to the press on Tuesday afternoon.
It is understood that the Black Cats will offer the forward a 5 year contract at the Stadium of Light.
