Negredo flies to Man City for transfer talks

07 July 2013 - 09:03

Alvaro Negredo has arrived in Manchester to discuss personal terms with Man City representatives. The Spanish international, who scored 27 La Liga goals last year, will become City's third major signing of the summer so far by new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Negredo follows Fernandinho and former team mate Jesus Navas to Man City, as Pellegrini looks to kick start a major rebuilding programme at the Etihad Stadium.

Carlos Tevez has already been sold to Juventus, and the Spanish striker Negredo is expected to be a direct replacement for the Argentine. It is understood that Man City have already agreed a reported 29 million Euro transfer fee with Sevilla, all that remains is that the player is to discuss personal terms with the Citizens.

Negredo will meet with Man City representatives alongside his agent on Monday morning, and a deal and medical is expected to be wrapped up by Wednesday afternoon when the player will be formally announced as a City player.
