West Ham are ready to make a bid for Liverpool's out of favour winger Stewart Downing. The England international has been told by the club that he is no longer needed ahead of the new season.
The former Middlesbrough winger is valued at around 9 million GBP and has just two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield.
Downing could be sold to make way for a new left winger, and there are reports that Liverpool are in the market for a major signing in the next few weeks.
