Swansea closing in on Esteban Granero

Swansea closing in on Esteban Granero

13 July 2013 - 10:59

Queen Park Rangers midfielder Esteban Granero's agent has revealed that Swansea City have opened talks for the player, but insists that the Spaniard is still open to a switch to the Serie A.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • The 26-year-old who arrived at Loftus Road from La Liga giants Real Madrid last season is not keen on plying his trade in the Championship and is nearing a move to the Liberty Stadium.

His agent Carlos Cutropia says the negotiations are underway but he gave a hint that interest in Italy in the form of Napoli could entice the player to change his mind up.

He told TuttoMercatoWeb.com: "The two clubs (Swansea and QPR) are talking about a transfer, it's true. Michael Laudrup knows him very well from their time at Getafe where together they had a great UEFA Cup campaign. Swansea would be an absolutely acceptable destination for Esteban.

"I've received many enquiries from Spanish and English clubs, but for various reasons we have not reached a conclusion. "The dream of Esteban is to one day play in Italy. If we get calls from Italy we will take them into serious consideration."
