Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta has reportedly hinted his interest in Serie A. He reveals his desire to be a part of the Serie A at some stage of his career.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Argentine international has become a favourite of Manchester City in the recent seasons and the club’s chairman Al-Mubarak has already stated his willingness to retain the defender.

Zabaleta joined the club in 2008 from Espanyol and has become the core of the defence ever since. He featured in the Premier League Team of the Season for the last campaign.

The Argentina international helped City clinch their first Premier League title in 2011-12 but in a recent interview he has expressed his desire to experience the Serie A at some point in his career.

"Serie A is a major championship in which I'd like to play one day," he told Sportitalia.

"Which team do I like? Juventus, Inter and AC Milan are important clubs but I think Fiorentina are a very interesting team.

"I don't know why but I have always liked Fiorentina since [Gabriel] Batistuta played there."
