Tottenham scouting Sebastian Cristoforo

14 July 2013 - 05:47

Tottenham's director of football Franco Baldini has been watching the FIFA under 20 World Cup and one of the players that most impressed Baldini is Penarol's midfielder Sebastian Cristoforo.

  • £47m star to undergo Chelsea medical on Friday
  • Chelsea make first move to sign French centre-back
  • Cristoforo is a very versatile young player, comfortable playing either as a defensive midfielder or attacking midfielder. He has been with Uruguayan side Penarol since 2011 and has forced his way into the club's first team plans on a regular basis.

Uruguay finished in second place in the tournament, one of the highlights being Cristoforo's stunning performance in holding midfield against eventual winners France.

The 19-year-old currently has two years remaining on his Penarol deal and Tottenham will make their first enquiry next week.
