Manchester United could get a fresh opportunity to sign Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni at the end of the season.
The Red Devils were keen on landing the France international this summer, but the midfielder eventually decided to stay at the Madrid giants.
United ended up signing Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba to bolster their midfield, but they continue to monitor Tchouameni.
Tchouameni was believed to have agreed a new Madrid deal over the summer, but as things stand, his current contract expires in June 2028.
AS claim that Madrid would ideally like to sell Tchouameni next summer compared to Eduardo Camavinga, who is much younger with potential.
Tchouameni is still unlikely to come on the cheap, and Madrid could demand at least £80 million to part ways with the 26-year-old.
Los Blancos are likely to pursue another marquee midfielder next summer, having previously missed out on landing Rodri from Manchester City.
Rodri chose to join Barcelona instead after snubbing Madrid.
