According to Marca, the much awaited transfer of Alvaro Negredo to Manchester City could be confirmed this week. Sevilla have already expressed their willingness to sell the striker, owing to their financially tight situation.
Manchester City approached the Spanish club with a 23 million euros offer for Negredo last week, much of which they would pay in cash. President Jose Maria del Nido is therefore willing to participate in negotiations with the club, who have already acquired Jesus Navas from Sevilla.<br />
It has been reported that City boss Manuel Pellegrini has already held talks with the Spanish striker in an attempt to convince him to reject offers from the other interested clubs Napoli and Spurs. <br />
City are confident of wrapping up the Negredo deal soon. Marca believes that terms could be agreed on between the clubs by Wednesday, when Sevilla travel to South America on a pre-season tour.
