PSG Sign Lucas Digne

The French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, have officially announced the signing of Lille left back, Lucas Digne. The 19-year-old had been chased by the Ligue 1 champions all summer and has now put pen to paper on a five-year-deal.

  • Digne was strongly linked with a move away from Lille, with the youngster being tracked by both the French giants PSG and Monaco. He has however agreed on a deal, which is believed to be in the region of &euro;15 million, with PSG.<br />

    The player will now play under the guidance of Laurent Blanc. He has featured in the France U20 team that won the World Cup in Turkey in July.<br />

    PSG chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, told the club&rsquo;s official website:<br />

    "Lucas Digne, one of the great hopes of French football, recent winner of the World Cup and less than 20 years old, courted by leading clubs, chooses Paris Saint-Germain to assert himself on the European stage.<br />

    "We are particularly pleased to welcome a young French player in our team."<br />

    Digne also revealed his happiness after joining the club and he called it a childhood dream.<br />

    "Playing at Paris Saint-Germain with exceptional players is a childhood dream and a great joy. After becoming a world champion, I had a fantastic summer. I thank the club officials for their confidence."
