Man City hoping to wrap up Pepe deal this month

21 July 2013 - 13:46

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is hopeful that a deal can be agreed with Real Madrid for the transfer of Portugal international defender Pepe. The Madrid defender could make a move for a reported 14 million Euros.

  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • Newly appointed City boss Pellegrini has been keen to bolster his defence with the signing of a major centre back, and Pepe emerged as the primary target for this summer.

It has been reported that Pellegrini sees Vincent Kompany and Pepe as the ideal defensive partnership for the season that awaits and the defensive duo will certainly be tough to beat.

Pepe himself is also eager to move to the Premier League. The defender has also been a target for newly promoted French side Monaco.
