Attacking midfielder Zoltan Gera is on the verge of agreeing a new deal with WBA. The playmaker has been locked in talks with the club for over 3 weeks and is expected to agree terms sometime later this month.
West Brom have been busy trying to tie their best players down to new contracts this summer, with Steve Clarke eager to also add some reinforcements to his squad.
“We’re still negotiating but if the club didn’t count on me probably I wouldn’t be here,” said Gera.
“The club obviously wants to see how fit I am but I hope within two weeks I’ll have a contract.
“We (Steve Clarke) speak to each other, he supports me, wants me back in the team and it also feels good.
“The physios and the doctor also take care of me. Thinking about the last two years, and how they have cared for me for one-and-a-half years, when I’ve not played, means much to me.”
