Gino Peruzzi to complete Sunderland move

Gino Peruzzi is on the verge of completing a move from Velez Sarsfield to Sunderland. Paolo Di Canio has been chasing the full back for over a month and a deal is now edging closer to completion.

The 21-year-old's deal to Sunderland almost fell through after discovering an issue with his knee, but after a more extensive medical at the Stadium of Light, a deal could be back on. It is understood Peruzzi will sign a four year contract later this week.<br />

&ldquo;As reported earlier, during the week directors Baldomar and Ordonez travelled to England with the player Gino Peruzzi to advance negotiations over the latter's transfer to Sunderland,&rdquo; read a statement on Velez's official website.
