The newly appointed Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has suggested that the Premier League champions Manchester United are wasting their time in attempting a possible move for their midfield star Cesc Fabregas.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • The Red Devils manager David Moyes, has had two offers for the Spanish International rejected by Catalans but has expressed his plans of signing the talented midfielder.

Gerardo Martino was chosen as a successor to Tito Vilanova, as the latter gave up his post due to his fight against cancer.

Martino in a recent interview said: "Fabregas is a top player, we are proud to have him here. It doesn't matter what the offer from United is, we are counting on him.

"I'm not going to get into the economic interests. If the club rejected it twice, I add a third one right now.

"It is normal that many clubs are interested in our player, Cesc. That is a source of pride for us. but we'll reject all bids."
