Nelson Oliveira shuns Premier League move for Rennes

Despite the interest of Stoke City and Fulham, Portuguese striker Nelson Oliveira has decided to swap Benfica on a season long loan move to French side Rennes.

Just last week Stoke City manager Mark Hughes had indicated a move for Oliveira could be completed before the end of the month, but French side Rennes were Oliveira's preferred option and he has joined on loan with the option of making a deal permanent.<br />

"Nelson was our priority," Rennes' manager Philippe Montanier told the club's official website.<br />

"He is a promising and very complete player."
