Cardiff set to secure Capoue signature

Cardiff set to secure Capoue signature

29 July 2013 - 09:45

Newly promoted Premier League side Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has confirmed that the club has agreed a fee with Toulouse over the transfer of Etienne Capoue.

  • Chelsea set to sign Crystal Palace star for £47m
  • Man Utd aiming to beat Liverpool to 25yo midfielder
  • The highly rated French international has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the past couple of seasons but it seems that new boys Cardiff are leading the race to sign him.

It is believed that Capoue has been hopeful of making a move to a bigger English club but may be forced to join Cardiff as there has been interest from others.

"Ourselves and Toulouse have come to an agreement," said Mackay.

"We've got to then have the conversation with Etienne and his advisors, they've been very professional in terms of what they're talking about as well.

"We've been in constant dialogue with them in the last week and Toulouse have been excellent to deal with.

"It's pretty delicate at the moment. We're in discussions and negotiations but it's something that's ongoing."
