Gareth Bale Returns To London, Doubts Over His Future Remain

29 July 2013 - 18:41

Gareth Bale missed the Asia Cup friendlies in Hong Kong due to a strain but he continues to draw media attention with transfer speculation. Bale has flown back to London along with the rest of the Tottenham squad but the doubts over his future at the club are far from over.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • According to Spanish daily Marca, Bale is hell-bent on joining Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are also ready to sanction a bid in the region of £80m for the attacker.

Despite the interest from Spain, Tottenham are adamant on clinging on to their best player, as Andre Villa Boas claimed on Friday that the club is in the process of negotiating a new deal for Bale.

The 24-year-old has had an extraordinary campaign with Spurs last season, when he managed to score 21 Premier League goals and also bagged the PFA and FWA Player of the Year awards. Although, he could not see his team secure a spot in the top-4, which means he will not play UEFA Champions League football.
