David Moyes Confident Of Making Some Significant Summer Signings

29 July 2013 - 19:00

Manchester United boss David Moyes is struggling to make a marquee signing for the club this summer. According to a report in The Independent, the newly appointed coach is confident of making some impactful signings this transfer season, irrespective of whether Cesc Fabregas agrees to join the Red Devils.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Moyes has been insistent on the quality of the squad already at his disposal. He feels that the current squad will be a tough challenge for United's opponents, even without a summer addition.

"Well that's the squad that finished 15 points clear top of the Premier League,” said Moyes.

"The squad Manchester United has got without any additions will be tough opponents for any team this year.”

Moyes has failed to match the level and scale of signings his rivals Chelsea and Manchester City have made this summer. His only small success came in the form of Uruguayan youngster Guillermo Varela.

    About Fabregas, the coach said:

"I never said at any time that I knew that we would get him (Fabregas). We've made offers that were rejected and we'll take stock of the situation and see where we go from there."
