West Ham United set to plot move for Emmanuel Emenike

30 July 2013 - 15:28

The Hammers are set to make a move for Nigerian International striker Emmanuel Emenike from Russian outfit Spartak Moscow. The West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is keen to bringing another striker to the London club after the departure of Carlton Cole during the  summer.

  • Allardyce was hopeful of capturing the signature of Salomon Kalou from French Ligue 1 side Lille, but the former Blues man stalled on his move to Upton Park as he was not guaranteed a forward role at the club.

Reports in Russia suggest that West Ham have made Emenike as their top priority to fill the vacant spot. The Nigerian International  was the star performer for his national side at the African Cup of Nations held during January this year as he finished as the top goal scorer with 4 goals to his name.

West Ham are set to open up discussions with Spartak Moscow over the move for the talented striker and it is suggested that the Russian side would not accept anything less than £8m for their star forward.
