Sevilla see off Real Madrid

04 November 2007 - 15:20

Sevilla produced a fantastic performance on the 11th matchday of La Primera Liga as they defeated Real Madrid in a 2-0 victory thanks to Keita and Fabiano, and proved there is life after Juande Ramos.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Goals from Mali midfielder Seydou Keita and Brazilian forward Luis Fabiano settled the game to hand the holders their second league defeat this season.

However, Real remain top with 25 points from 11 games, as Sevilla, who played ten games, jump to 10th place with 15 points.

The Sevillistas, led by new coach Manolo Jimenez, were in front after 19 minutes thanks to a blistering 25-yard strike from Keita.

Two minutes later, Fabiano doubled the lead when he followed Frederic Kanoute's blocked shot to beat Iker Casillas, hitting the empty net.

Real defender Sergio Ramos received his marching orders six minutes after the break, for a second bookable offence.
