Tottenham are planning to hijack Arsenal’s move for Luis Suarez if their main man Gareth Bale leaves the White Hart Lane for Real Madrid this summer according to reports from the Metro.
Reports suggest that the Los Blancos have tabled an extraordinary bid of £85m for the Welsh International Gareth Bale and despite chairman Daniel Levy's reluctance in letting his star move on, it is highly likely that the winger will be at the Bernabeu before the end of the summer transfer window.
This would mean that Spurs would be in a stronger financial position to challenge their North London rivals Arsenal to the signing of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who has already admitted of his desire to leave Liverpool this summer.
The Gunners are still considered favourites to sign Suarez as the lack of Champions League football could go against Spurs, with the Liverpool willing to play in the Europe's elite competition.
The Emirates side are currently having a struggle in meeting Liverpool’s valuation for the striker, which is thought to be over £50m. Meanwhile, Spurs boss is willing to strengthen his club's attack force this summer as reports suggest that the North London club is closing in on the signing of Valencia forward Roberto Soldado.
