Tottenham complete Roberto Soldado signing

01 August 2013 - 11:14

Roberto Soldado has completed a transfer switch from Valencia to Tottenham. The Spain international striker has put pen to paper on a three year contract at White Hart Lane. Soldado joins Spurs having seen the two teams agree a 30 million Euro fee.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Valencia confirmed on their official website today that Soldado has completed a move to England, a statement read: "Valencia Club de Fútbol has reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, pending the corresponding medical examination, for the transfer of Roberto Soldado for the amount equivalent to that of his release clause."

The Spanish forward scored 24 goals in 35 La Liga games last year, making him one of Europe's most feared strikers and most sought after in this transfer window. Spurs had been keen to secure Soldado's signature sooner rather than later, with Emmanuel Adebayor seemingly heading for a move to Turkish giants Besiktas whilst there remains some uncertainty regarding the long term future of Jermain Defoe.
